| Another interesting initiative in
Piacenza is the creation of an internal tank
cleaning station which is foreseen to be
operational by December 1998. The planning,
realization and management of the cleaning
station have been entrusted to Bonifica Autocisterne. This society was formed by a company
called ASM in collaboration with 10 local
transport companies who together own the majority
of the tanks used for transportation operating in
the Piacenza area. ASM is the company, which
provides the municipal services in Piacenza and
also runs the town’s only sewage treatment
plant. The aims that Bonifica Autocisterne has set itself are to realize an internal tank cleaning station sufficiently equipped to guarantee European standards in both quality and quantity, while paying maximum respect to the environment. With this in mind, ASM’s presence becomes very significant in order to put all its experience and capabilities to full use both on a structural level by locating the cleaning station adjacent to the sewage plant, and on an organizational level, for the controlled treatment and disposal of industrial wastes. |
